Sioux Empire Board meeting, December 6, 2005

Missing: Jacqui, Brian, Gordie
Bus Trip: Dave reported that the bus trip was fun, and netted about $1500.
Founders Day: The banquet is set for February 25, 2006 at the Oaks hotel, St Mary's hall is unavailable that night. We have booked Scarlet and Cream singers to perform. Dave will check on the menu and reduced-rate rooms for the directors. Gordie had said he would personally invite the groups in his area, and if anyone knows the local directors to call them, that would be helpful. I will send invitations to the event to area high school directors and notify Kristi Decker, recruiter for SD about the event. We will purchase the scholarship winners meals, and ask the parents to buy tickets. We will also host the singers as our guests. Jim will arrange for Lil Red, Dave will get the banners, and Mary will take care of the rest of the decorations. We also need donations or items for the auction. We need attendance of at least 100 people; therefore, it is very important that EVERYONE attend and help promote this event. Mary will take care of the invitations, and ask NAA for an updated mailing list.
Watch party: We have reserved the very back room at CJ Callaways for the Alamo Bowl, Dec 28, game time 7pm. There is seating for about 30 people. Please RSVP to Mary for a head count. Lets try to have good attendance at this site, and perhaps they will always let us have a room. There will be DOOR PRIZES!!
Scholarships: Dave has sent the forms out for applications, and the dates of interviews are January 28 and Feb 4. Mary and Paul can interview, but we still need 1 or 2 more people. Brooke and JOE? Any volunteers?
Newsletter: Jim volunteered and article. Anyone else that can write an article on the bus trip, picnic, studentsxplease let Mary or Brooke know.
