Board meeting: October 11, 2005

Members present: Dave Fleck, Brooke White, Jacqui Scoular, Gordon Schulte, Mary Dick, Joe Olsen, Jim Lambert and guest and new Husker in town, Kurt Boney
Agenda: Bus trip: The tickets have sold out, but game time has not been announced yet. The bus will leave no later than 8am if the game starts at 3pm or before, and later if it's a night game. Brooke will arrange food, Gordie will pick up beverages. Mary has the cups/napkins/etc. The bus will stop at the Canton and Vermillion exits. Dave will contact all of the riders with departure times once game time is announced.
Founders Day: It has been several years since we've hosted Scarlet and Cream. Mary will contact the NAA and check dates and availability. We will also invite members of the cheer squad that are from our area.
Leadership conference: Mary and Brooke reported on the VLC. They were both very disappointed with the organization and content of the meeting, and gave their responses at the conference.
Spirit Squad: Several board members have received requests for financial support from Rob Heuer, a former SD scholarship winner. The squad is heading to a national competition and needs funding. Several members chipped in money, and Dave will send a check for $500 to support them.
Parents group: Mary sent out fliers to start a Nebraska parents group, and had 3 parents get together for dinner. It was a great exchange of info and support. We will include the mailing list on SE Husker activities.
Kurt has moved to Sioux Falls and is with several radio stations. He has been involved with several other Nebraska alum groups, and will do some research on a golf tournament-inviting coaches and players to participate.
Young Alumni events: Brooke has attempted several outings with minimal response. We are always open to suggestions and anyone willing to organize an event.
