Board Meeting: September 24, 2003

Old business:
Bus trip: 29 people rode the bus to the Penn State game which left the Oaks parking lot at 11am, kick-off was at 7pm, and the bus arrived back in Sioux Falls at 4 AM...beer, pop, bloody Mary's and screwdrivers were the beverages, sack lunches of subs, chips and cookies were purchased from Quizno's, and chips, nuts, snack mix were also available. Dave doesn't have a $ amount of the profit yet.
Picnic: The picnic held Aug 7 at Sertoma was probably the best attended yet. We estimated about 80 in attendance. Several heard about it on KSOO, and several NAA memberships were sold that night. Mary followed up all the new names with a letter, newsletter, membership application and some info about our chapter. The picnic netted about $280...2 boxes of personal hygiene products were collected for the St. Francis house.
Golf outing: Joe had no RSVP's for the golf outing.
Decals: Steve will check out the printing costs of the decals, and after all of the cost info is in...we will decide if we will proceed with this project.

Dave F will give a summary of his first meeting of the NAA board, and Mary will write an article about the Volunteer Leadership conference.
Founders Day: We would like to have Tommy Frasier as our speaker. ?? who is going to contact him? Other speakers on the list are Don Bryant or Steve Pedersen, new AD....We will invite Nate Welch to speak as well. He is lil' Red, and has always been a great sport at attending our Founders Day. Tentative date is March 27...
Softball Tournament: The womens softball team is playing in the Augie tourney this weekend. We will have balloons and a welcome banner at their hotel. Mary will check with Chris Anderson and compliance to see if we can do anything else for the team while they are in town. Addendum: after checking with the NAA office, we have their agenda, and will try to meet up with the team at Fuddruckers on Sat pm about 6:30. They will have supper there, and the group can join them for support.
