Board Meeting: July 16, 2003
Agenda:
Members present: Dave F, Mary, Jim, Paul, Steve , Joe
Dave presented the report from the Foundation on our scholarship fund. Scholarships have been awarded to our students for the fall.
Golf Outing/Barbecue: Joe has arranged a golf outing/barbecue for Sept 20 at Spring Creek. Cost will be $50 for 18 holes and barbecue, cart on your own. Barbecue will be at 5pm at Joe's house, and cost of barbecue only is $10. RSVP to Joe at 743-5739 by Sept 13.
Picnic: The picnic is Aug 7. Mailers have gone out in regards to the picnic and bus trip. As of now, we have about 20 responses for the picnic. Jim has 2 tickets to Troy State which we will raffle for $5 ticket at the picnic.
Bus Trip: Bus trip is Sept 13. The bus will leave from the O'Gorman parking lot at 10AM, and return immediately after the game. Kick-off is at 7pm, so we will have refreshments on the bus for both the trip down and back. Mary will be in charge of food, Dave Fleck will get beverages.
KSOO radio broadcast sponsorship: We discussed renewing our support of the broadcast of Husker/Vikings games. They have increased the cost, but we decided to go ahead for this year, and will ask board members to help support it. The will do PSA announcements for our group and its activities. Cost is $3150.
Watch Parties: Watch parties will be at Cherry Creek grill. The first 4 games will be televised, check Huskers.com for more info.
Angie Nelson has resigned from the board. Steve has several people to see if they may be interested in coming on board.
Volunteer Leadership summit: The format has been changed for this years conference, and only 1 person from our chapter will be allowed to attend. Mary will be our chapter's rep.
By-laws and charter: we will continue to work on the by-laws, and the NAA suggests that we delegate a student recruitment person in our chapter. Anyone interested in that position, please let Mary know.
