Husker Board meeting: June 29, 2005

Picnic: The date of the picnic is August 4, 20005 at Sertoma park. Dave Fleck will get the grill, food and pop for the picnic at Sam's. Brian will contact Maximum promotions for the banner and set it up. Dave will get the grill and ask Jason to help grill. Mary will bring utensils and pans, and cookies. We will give away 2 license decals as a door prize. Mary ordered extra postcards to send to students attending UNL and their parents. We would like to involve more parents in our local activities, and perhaps get a local UNL Parents group started. We will also have the license decals for sale at the picnic.
Decals: Thanks to Brooke's hard work, we have the N Alumni license decals here!! They will sell for $20/pair, and you can either trade your plates in for the organizational plates , or when you renew, you can buy the plates for the decals. County treasurer's will have the contact information for people to contact our group to buy the decals. This will be a scholarship fund-raiser.
Scholarships:One of the winners declined the scholarship, so it will be offered to the first alternate, Jill Heuer.
Volunteer Leadership conference is Sept 2 with a different format. It will only be on Friday afternoon, and attendance from board members is required to maintain Red Letter Status.
Banner: The Nebraska bookstore will display chapter banners throughout the football season. We decided this would be an easier way to show off the banner since the rules have changed about getting the banner hung in the stadium., Mary will take the banner after the picnic, and deliver it to the Bookstore when she is there in August. (by the way, where is it now?)
Late note: Our chapter did not have notification until last week, July 7, about tickets. We did get 40 tickets for the Oklahoma game, and are working on a bus trip. More information will be available at the picnic.
Plan on attending and helping at the picnic. I need several people to man the welcome table and take tickets. Please give me a call if you can help, or email. |
