Old Business:
Founders Day: About 45 people attended the banquet at St. Mary's Hall with Boyd Epley as guest speaker. All four scholarship winners and parents were able to attend. The silent auction did not generate great funds....ideas to consider for next year: alternatives to silent auction, alternative sites and more family friendly program...
Scholarships: 40+ students were interviewed from across the state. The admissions office sent out emails to all admitted students, which increased the # of applications. The board discussed concerns that the applications came from across the state, and our group is only allowed to send mailings to functions that raise $ to support the scholarship fund to a 50 mile radius. We might consider putting parameters in place that limits the area the applications are sent. We will also get press releases to local papers next year announcing the winners.
New Business:
Newsletter: Deadline for the spring newsletter is May 10. Get articles and pictures to Brooke by then. Articles assigned:

Picnic will be held at Sertoma Park August 5, 2004 6:30 pm. We will finalize details at a later board meeting.
Mike Flynn has resigned from the board. He has other obligations that require his time. We appreciate all Mike has done, and his support. We look forward to seeing Mike at future events, and several members will be talking to "young" alums in the area to find a replacement.
Football Ticket Requests: LinkAlumni allows our chapter to request a max of 40 tickets for a single game. We prioritized the games as Mizzou, Colo, and Southern Miss as the top 3 choices...the home game schedule isn't that enticing this year; but hopefully we can still do a bus trip.
Summer Family Activity: Brooke will check with Wild Water West or Go Kart place about a group rate.
Young Alum Recruitment: We discussed an activity to specifically contact and recruit younger alums. Mary has contacted Chris for a list of alums graduating from 1990 to present, and Brooke will check on a place to host a social hour or get-together.
Tailgate: We discussed a tailgate party/possibly with a radio station for the first football game this fall. We will check out several places to see if we can find a host business.....
