Sioux Empire Board Meeting, January 24, 2008 at CJ Callaway’s
Members present: Brooke, Dave, Mary F., Jason, Antje, and Brian.
Members Excused: Mary D., Jim, Truman, Jaqui, Gordon, and Paul.
2008 Scholarship Preparations: Applications were sent to the board members for review. Jason, Antje, Brooke, and Dave will conduct the interviews on January 26th and February 2nd. Mary F. will greet the candidates on January 26th and if needed on February 2nd.
Discussion of 2008 Spring Banquet: The date of May 24th was set. This will be a joint event with Fellowship of Christian Athletes. All proceeds from the ticket sales will go to FCA. Tom Osborne will be the keynote speaker. Jason will check on availability of the great hall at the Washington Pavilion. CJ Calloways, the Sheraton are alternate options for locations. Cost will be $50/person for individual tickets. It was decided to sell tables, the cost will be determined after the location and table sizes were set. The menu will also be set after the location is finalized. We received silent auction prizes from Strikke Designs as part of their web-site agreement. All the money from the silent auction prizes that we arrange will go to the Sioux Empire Cornhuskers. The board is currently looking for silent auction prizes.
